Dr. Eric Frimpong, Chief Executive Officer of Gengimed Dental Clinic, has officially launched Gengimed Mineral Water with the inauguration of a new production facility at Darko Akosombo in the Ashanti Region.

The new Kumasi-based plant marks a major expansion of the company’s operations. Prior to this development, the company operated a production facility at Nsoatre in the Bono Region, where it focused exclusively on sachet water. The Ashanti Region plant significantly increases capacity and product range, producing both sachet water and bottled mineral water in large, medium, and small sizes.

The colourful launch ceremony drew traditional leaders, industry stakeholders, community members, and invited guests. The event featured cultural dance performances and live band entertainment, creating a festive atmosphere. The presence of Dr. Frimpong’s mother added a personal and celebratory touch to the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Frimpong expressed strong support for the government’s proposed 24-hour economy policy. He described the initiative as a strategic move capable of boosting productivity and strengthening Ghana’s economy. According to him, the policy would enable manufacturing companies, including water producers, to increase efficiency, scale up production, and create more employment opportunities.

He also called on regulators, particularly the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), to intensify efforts to clamp down on illegal water producers. Dr. Frimpong warned that unregulated operators pose serious public health risks and undermine the credibility and investments of licensed companies operating within the law.
